Pumpkin Patch

10/12/2012 Before we had moved I had done some research and found SEVER’S pumpkin patch/corn maze. Each year they create a different design. They also have a scavenger hunt throughout the maze. Plus other various fun activities. It sounded perfect for a family adventure! It was a beautiful day for some gourds and corn!

The first attraction we visited was the petting zoo. This was Zoë’s second experience with a petting zoo, but this one was filled with exotic animals. It had…

They also had Lemurs, Monkeys, an Owl, Fox, and several other “exotic” animals. One of our favorite exotic animal was the kangaroos. I had noticed one of the mommy kangaroo’s was carrying her little Joey! Zoë was able to touch one, it was so sweet and nuzzled right up to her hand.

Another one of our Favorite exotic animal was the camels. Zoë wasn’t too sure about the camels. They made a lot of noise and tried to lick her face and hand. Tommy was a little apprehensive too.

They also had a pumpkin shooting gun…sadly we did not par take in the destroying of pumpkins (totally wished we had).

Scattered throughout the grounds were several different types of tractors.  Zoë got a chance to try out a few.

After the petting zoo we headed into the corn maze. set out with the best intentions to participate in the scavenger hunt. First off Joel could not resist picking the corn (which is against the rules), secondly there were a few bus loads of kids there and they were EVERYWHERE. However we did find a few of the letters. One of my favorites was about popcorn. I LOVE popcorn.

After lunch we dove into the corn pit. I think this was by far our favorite attraction! We over heard on girl say, “Mommy I have corn in my hole” we couldn’t help ourselves, we all burst out in laughter!
Tommy and Joel made corn angels. They also ran around in the corn, which is a lot harder than you might think. I guess boys will be boys!
