For a walk in the neighborhood.
10/14/2012 Sunday before Tommy started work we decided to explore the city as a family and there is no better way to explore than to take to the city by foot. We bundled up Zoë, strapped the dogs up (I really want to get them jackets, but Tommy thinks that makes them look sissy), and set the crock pot to warm (buffalo chicken—YUM). Once every one was ready we headed towards the Mississippi. We found GRASS a pretty hot commodity in the city. The boys enjoyed the grass and took full advantage of it. Also to our surprise we found a park just three blocks away from our apartment.
There is a great walking and biking path along the Mississippi as well. So we decided to take a stroll down the river.

At one section of the path there is a scavenger hunt. Hidden along the wall were 13 worms you could find along the way. Unfortunately many of them had been broken off. I did spot a few.

There are also other animal statues scattered along the wall.

We continued down the river (rollin, rollin, rollin on the river) we spotted a cute red boat across the river. It was really quaint and we couldn’t resist capturing it.

As we continued our walk we really fell in love with the city. We admired the bridges and the mighty river. We plan to cross the bridge and discover what is on the other side, that will be another adventure. We did capture a few more moments from our Sunday walk…

A little side note: When we decided to move to a city we had a few requirements…first we wanted a city that had good public transportation, second we wanted to be close to nature. We really enjoy the city as much as nature and didn’t want to be completely surrounded by concrete. We really feel that we found that here in Minneapolis.
