Tommy’s First Week

10/14/2012 Tommy started his new job at FAME. After devouring our buffalo chicken sandwiches we cleaned up and got ready for the next day. Zoë got a bath. Bath time around here is the best part of the day. Zoë loves playing with her toys and splashing in the water. Her favorite toy is her shark! Her brothers diligently watch over her and sometimes want to join her. Before we went to bed we made the necessary preparations for the next day. It truly felt like the first day of school. I helped Tommy pick out his clothes. He made sure all his forms were properly filled out. And the coffee was set. I had decided that we would walk Tommy to work. So we got up early got ready, strapped Zoë in to her stroller and off we went. It’s a pretty easy walk, 0.8 miles to be exact. It was kind of neat the city is awake and bustling in the morning as everyone heads into work. You almost feel like you are finding your classroom. Before Tommy headed up to the 26th floor of RBC Plaza I snapped his picture.
Doesn’t he look so excited? Off tommy went to work and Zoë and I back home. On our way back we spotted a food truck, I got really excited! When we got home we sent Tommy a good luck picture and let him know we got home safe.

We took the boys to the dog park. They love it there! It has lots of smells and plenty of room to romp around. We take the boys out about three times a day.

On Tuesday we decided to meet Tommy and walk over to Target to get a few things we needed. And then we were all able to walk home together.

On Wednesday Tommy called us and asked if we wanted to meet him for lunch. We quickly got ready and headed over  to his building. Come to find out there are a LOT of food trucks park outside Tommy’s building. We decided to try a food truck called the Smack Shack. We have been wanting to try since our visit to Minneapolis in September. They will be opening a bricks location in our building. We both got a sausage po’boy. It was delicious! Which is terrible! I am sure we will enjoy more of their food in the near soonish future (they have an actual sign in the window that reads opening midsoon).

LOTS of food trucks…I was pretty darn excited about this and I didn’t even have to pay to experience ALL of these trucks! 😉

This day was particularly cold so Zoë and I decided to try out the skyway. In an urban setting, a skywaycatwalksky bridge, or skywalk is a type of pedway consisting of an enclosed or covered bridge between two buildings. This protects pedestrians from the weather. (According to Wikipedia) On our walk home we saw a great view of Target Field. We also walked past Target Center and saw a sign for Sesame Street Live! (Looking forward to that adventure in January)

Here are a few shots of what Zoë likes to do during the day…

Zoë learned how to turn on the surround sound on/off…on/off

And a few shots from the 26th floor…

The first couple of days Tommy got aquatinted with the company and their policies and procedures. By Wednesday he was given his first assignment. I am happy to report that his first project was a success.
