11/28/2012 I signed us up for another Hip Momma’s of Minneapolis event. This time we were off to see Madeline’s Christmas at the Stages Theatre in Downtown Hopkins. We got bundled up with jackets and scarves. It has been pretty cold here, more like frigid. But we wouldn’t be outside too much, so no snow suit. Zoë was in a great mood. She babbled the whole way there. It was pretty easy to find and there was FREE public parking!
I love going on these outings because they get us out of our routine and lead us to exploring outside of the city. I am feeling a lot more confident in my driving in a new city and I have gotten the hang of the freeways. Once we got there we met up with our group and found our seats. I did get a picture of Zoë!
We were a little early, so once we were in our seat some of the girls were out greeting the audience. I was very impressed by the girls professionalism when they were interacting the children. They were very sweet and kindly answered any questions the little ones had.

We had great seats, center stage and about 8 rows from the front. It was a great little theatre. Thankfully we were there with A LOT of little kids, probably preschool or kindergarten. It was not quiet, there was all kinds of chitter chatter going on with the occasional cry. Zoë was guilty of a few herself. I forgot her pacifier and unfortunately we were pushing nap time. But once the girls started singing she would settle in and watch attentively. You weren’t allowed to take video or pictures, but I did sneak a few, sshh!

It was about an hour long production. I really enjoyed the show. I like that it was a one set production. The girls did an amazing job! All of the little ones kept asking, “Why did they turn out the lights” About 3/4 of the way through our group seemed more interested in playing then watching the play. Then they did a number that required a disco ball and it grabbed there attention again. Zoë really enjoyed the musical numbers. I think it was a great production for her. Once the play was over we made our way to the lobby.

I was really glad we went. We met another Mommy and her baby boy. He is 8 moths old. Zoë was very eager to meet him and wanted to grab his face. They swapped toys and crawled around. We were able to get in some mommy talk and grab a couple of pictures for eachother.
Overall it was a great experience and I look forward to our next Hip Momma’s of Minneapolis adventure.
