1/8/2013 When I was researching events for NYE I stumbled upon a Toddler Tuesday event where you get to meet Brobee from the cast of Yo Gabba Gabba! I immediately put that on our calendar!
We made it to the mall just in time to get in line for the second visit with Brobee. As we stood in line we got to see Brobee as he went off to take his break!

Finally Brobee came back and we got really excited for our turn to meet him and get a few pictures with him.

Zoe was curious and little excited to see Brobee, but that all changed once it was our turn to get up close and personal with Brobee.

I was very thankful that the woman working there was willing to take pictures of us as we got to interact with Brobee. Even though her finger was in the corner for some of them. It is so funny to see Zoe shy. She is typically not a shy person. I love when she rests her head on my shoulder looking for comfort. There is no greater feeling than being the person she finds refuge in. After we were done we decided to color for a little bit (in Zoe’s case eat the crayon while I color).

It was so fun to see her in a big girl chair. I imagine this would be what it will be like on her first day of preschool (far, far, far, away from now, at least that’s what I keep telling myself). She enjoyed the little girl sitting across from her. She kept trying to give Zoe more crayons, but Zoe was content with the one she had in her mouth. Once Zoe had enough crayons to eat we headed over to play with the Legos.

She is starting to get the hang of playing with Legos, at least the deconstructing part of the fun! Zoe kept watching the older kids walk around. She would attempt to walk and then just fall down and crawl…I think she likes crawling more because it is a much faster mode of transportation. She did make a transfer from one table to the next and I was very proud. Even the dad watching his son noted she figured it out. She was a wild girl playing with all of the little boys. It was a great opportunity for her to practice her being gentle and sharing. After Legos it was time for a little snack and a treat.

Zoe loves her Strawberry Beet smoothie!
Just wanted to fit in a quick story about a Meet up we went to the week before. I had signed us up for a story time at the Red Balloon Bookstore. This story time was for toddlers, but we decided to tag along anyways since Zoe is at that in between age. The lady who led story time was a women well versed in early education and preschool curriculum. It was refreshing to hear her talk about education and the reasons behind why she does what she does. It was also nice to hear her encouraging the parents to be doing the same things at home. It almost felt like I was back in the classroom for a split second. The room was packed and the kids were totally engaged. Zoe loved being around the kids and listening to the stories and songs.

While we were sitting there I noticed the book display on top of the shelves and it made me chuckle. We are enjoying the snow and trying to stay positive about snow and I keep telling myself I love the snow!
Then we bundled up and made our way back to the car. Which we had so conveniently drifted into our parking space 45 minutes earlier. I finally told Tommy about that and as much as he was displeased to hear about it, he was glad we were safe. I look forward to taking Zoe back to the Red Balloon Bookstore and maybe we can take Dada with us next time!
