4/20/2013 Today we had a few activities on the agenda. The first stop was to check out the scratch and dent sale at Aesthetic Apparatus.
We decided to take the light rail to get around the city today. It is always an adventure on public transportation. Today we decided to sit in the “bend” (the accordion part of the light rail). Zoe hopped up on her dada’s lap and watched as the city passed by. It has been so much fun watching her curiosity grow over the past couple of months.
We got off the light rail and walked a few blocks to Aesthetic Apparatus. Zoe had fallen asleep, but as soon as we got in the shop she woke up (she would never miss an opportunity socialize).
This is a shop that creates and prints posters. Tommy has developed this passion/obsession with posters. I will admit I have jumped on the bandwagon with him. There are posters hanging in pretty much every room of our apartments (except for the bathroom, but I think will fix that problem real soon). We couldn’t miss out on this great deal, $5 for posters that were just a little less than perfect! It was so much fun to scour the piles of posters to find the one you were looking for. Everyone was hovered over one big pile in the middle of the room. It was a bit crowded so moving around was a little difficult, especially since I had Zoe strapped to my back. We slowly made our way over to the big table filled with LOTS of posters. I had spotted a poster I wanted. It was the state of Minnesota riding a bike. I had my heart set on it. There were two left on top of the pile. I went to reach for it as someone lifted the poster underneath it and the slid out of my reach. Thankfully the girl in front of me had longer arms and reached out for the poster for me, unfortunately someone else was trying to grab the same poster. Needless to say the girl grabbing the poster for me made sure I got it!

After we picked out all the posters we wanted we toured the shop. They had coffee and doughnuts. In another room they had a faux wall covered with posters. It is fun seeing other peoples shops. It seems like a fun environment to work in.

We had a lot of fun checking out all of the cool posters. And we even bumped into a few people we know. It is fun to actually be apart of Tommy’s community. Now I know how he feels when we went to my work “functions”. I love seeing him in his element and it is nice to share in his passion/obsession. Now off to stop #2!
