Sadly over the summer we bid Minnesota a farewell. Again it was a tough decision. Tommy’s company was doing a lot of downsizing (no, he was not downsized). We decided to make a proactive choice and return to California. Our family’s had just visited and we realized how much we missed everyone. So although we were sad to leave our adventure in Minneapolis, we were looking forward to exploring our home town with a fresh perspective. But before I get into our new journey I wanted to share our last weekend in Minneapolis plus a snippet of our move back to California.
The weekend before we left Tommy had planned a little day trip to Lake Minnetoka. We checked out a local farm and then we went miniature golfing at a crazy sculpture park. It was a gorgeous day, the sky was a mile high and filled with puffs of clouds. I was feeling anxious, but I am so thankful that we took the time to enjoy the state we had fallen in love with. Minnesota will always hold a piece of our hearts. Here are a few pictures from our last adventure in Minnesota…
I spent the next few days packing and repacking. It is not easy to fit a working mom and toddler into two checked bags and two carry-ons. We made one last trip to our favorite Salvation Army and enjoyed one last pizza pie from Luce’s. Next thing I knew I was on an airplane with Zoe and we were headed to California! Unfortunately this decision meant that Tommy would be moving our stuff across country AGAIN! Lucky for us we were able to move back into our house (Thank you Bryce and Ally for keeping it warm for us). This meant that Tommy would be able to make a quick trek across the country to bring us our stuff and then spend two weeks in our apartment with an air mattress and a small suitcase of clothes. Boy will this be a moment in our life that we will not want to repeat. I am thankful that Tommy’s friend Stefan was able to join him and the dogs on the long journey back. We really appreciate the friends we made in Minneapolis. Here are a few pictures of our short reunion…
