Red, White, and Berries

Zoë_Flags05/26/2014 I just wanted to pop in and write a quick post about our weekend. I intend to catch up starting with the month of October 2013, but for now I wanted to say Happy Memorial Day! We truly understand that our freedom is not free and we appreciate all of the sacrifices that the men and women of this country make for our continued freedom. This weekend like many others was spent filled with lots of family bonding and shared events with friends. I enjoy getting the time to spend with Zoë as we linger in bed cuddling and talking about our plans for the day. Her giggles in the morning are a great start to the day. This weekend was a little taste of summer, I am so looking forward to the break and going on more adventures with Zoë and Tommy.IMG_0795 IMG_0791

We started our weekend off with…you guessed it, a trip to Disneyland!! Disney was hosting a 24 hour event where the parks were open for, well 24 hours. We enjoyed some chicken and waffles, the waffles were delicious and the chicken is always amazing. IMG_0831 It was a little bit crowded, but this crowd was different, there were LOTS of people dressed up to show off their #disneyside. I was very impressed by many of the costumes that we saw, they were so elaborate. We got in a few spins on the Tea Cups, toured the world on It’s A Small World, traded a few pins, and mostly people watched. IMG_0752 IMG_0753 IMG_0755 IMG_0761 Saturday we slept in and were lazy. Zoë sang at the top of her lungs for a good portion of the day. Here are a few samples of Zoë’s singing: Frozen & Zoë and Megan Then we had a wedding to attend. Zoë LOVES weddings, it is just another excuse to dance and sing with her bff Jaycee. She also got to make a few new friends. IMG_0770 IMG_0824I got the chance to hang out and catch up with long time friends.IMG_0830 We got to see Jordan and Amanda become Mr. & Mrs. It was a night to remember. Sunday I caught up on some homework (I am working on my last classes to clear my credential and finish my Master program, woohoo). Zoë spent the morning with Laura a.k.a Nona. They fed the ducks, ate popsicles, painted nails and watched some Sophia the First (Zoë’s ideal day).IMG_0832 Then we ended the day with our friends Lauren and Josh! We grabbed a bite to eat at Blackbird Tavern and topped it all off with a rootbeer float from Old Town Rootbeer. We headed back home and while we let our food settle we watched a couple of movies, and chatted. It was a day well spent. IMG_0825 IMG_0826 IMG_0827We ended the three day weekend with a trip to the Temecula Berry Co. Zoë LOVES going to farms and picking fruit and seeing farm animals. She had her pinchers ready and we worked on picking only blue ones. It was so fun watching her scan the bush as she selected the perfect berry to pick. We love watching her experiences things for the first time, her enthusiasm is infectious. IMG_0820 IMG_0822IMG_0823IMG_0816 IMG_0817 IMG_0818 IMG_0819 IMG_0821
