Vacation

As 2015 comes to a close I want to share a favorite memory from 2015. Hands down our family trip to the East Coast was one for the books. We wanted to take the babies back to meet their Grandpa, Great Grandmas, Great Aunts and cousins. So all seven of us (Tommy, Ashley, Brady, myself, Zoe, Avery and Grey) packed up our things and headed to the airport to set out on an 8 day trip to Maryland and Connecticut.IMG_4266 2 I just want to take a moment and admit that traveling with three kids, two babies and one toddler, seemed a little overwhelming, but we did it! They did it! Zoe packed her bag with coloring, books, and we had a few episodes of Doc McStuffins. The babies had toys, but they mostly ate and slept. Once we arrived the babies got to meet their G-Pa, YaYa, Great G-Pa, Great Aunt and Cousin for the first time. IMG_4267 2 IMG_4220 1We squeezed so much into our short trip to Maryland. Here are a “few” pictures of our adventures. We visited a few of our childhood favorites, the botanical gardens, a farm, DC, Arlington Cemetery, the Dutch Market, and ate delicious food. Every morning we were greeted by Zoe saying, “Good morning, it’s a bootiful day!” as she looked out the window. It’s always a great way to start the morning! IMG_4311 1IMG_4230 1 IMG_4233 2 IMG_4239 1 IMG_4256 2 IMG_4260 2 IMG_4252 2 IMG_4245 1 IMG_4268 2 IMG_4270 2One thing I LOVED about our visit was being able to enjoy the fall weather! The colors were amazing, extra-ordinary, brilliant, radiant, could go on. IMG_4269 2

We also got to feed the deer in my Grandparents backyard and Zoe got to jump in big piles of leaves that G-Pa raked for her. IMG_4263 2 IMG_4369

Now back to our adventures…IMG_4312 1 IMG_4282 1 IMG_4316 IMG_4281 1 IMG_4294 1 IMG_4318 1 IMG_4321 IMG_4322 1 IMG_4323 1 IMG_4326 1 IMG_4317 IMG_4328 1 IMG_4331 1 IMG_4301 1 IMG_4348 1 IMG_4354 1 IMG_4357 1 IMG_4358 IMG_4372 1 IMG_4377 1 IMG_4382 1 IMG_4383 1And a little hotel shenanigans…IMG_4334 1 IMG_4335 1Before we left Maryland we had to say our goodbyes. Those are never easy. We got a few pictures before we left. These are the pictures we always took when we visited. We are so lucky to be able to come back to this house where my dad and Aunt grew up. And like every other trip Ashley cried all the way to Baltimore, I exaggerate, but she did cry. Thankfully YaYa had made sure we were prepared with some tissues. IMG_4405 1 IMG_4407 1 IMG_4410 1Then Zoe had to say one last goodbye to her new friend Andrew. I grew up playing with his mom across the street from my grandparents. I am so glad they finally got to meet. They truly hit it off instantly. IMG_4397 1Then we piled into the van for the long drive to Connecticut. But before we made it out of Maryland we HAD to stop at Charm City Cakes to get a sweet treat for the road. IMG_4411IMG_4412 1IMG_4413 1
IMG_4393 1 IMG_4390 1We got to see Paw-Paw, visit the farm my Aunt works at, and enjoy some wontons. IMG_4426 1 IMG_4508 1 IMG_4485 1 IMG_4481 2 IMG_4435 1 IMG_4441 1 IMG_4480 2 IMG_4478 2 IMG_4448 1 IMG_4454 1 IMG_4470 1 IMG_4471 IMG_4491 1 IMG_4503 1IMG_4628 2

Then we said our final good bye to family, hit the road one more time and headed to Boston. We found the cutest AirBnB and walked the Freedom Trail. We had made this trip as little girls. I will never forget the time my mom and aunt drove us in circles around the city. This was a really great way to end our trip. IMG_4631 2 IMG_4638 2 IMG_4630 2 IMG_4572 2 IMG_4574 1 IMG_4632 2 IMG_4589 1 IMG_4609 1 IMG_4633 2 IMG_4612 1 IMG_4621 2 IMG_4614 1 IMG_4635 2 IMG_4626 2IMG_4627 2This was a trip that most of us will never forget. It was a once in a lifetime chance and I’m glad we took it! Family time is always the best time! I hope one day we can do another trip with these kids when they are older! And I will leave you with this! IMG_4637 2
