Red, White, and Berries

Zoë_Flags05/26/2014 I just wanted to pop in and write a quick post about our weekend. I intend to catch up starting with the month of October 2013, but for now I wanted to say Happy Memorial Day! We truly understand that our freedom is not free and we appreciate all of the sacrifices that the men and women of this country make for our continued freedom. Girls Just Want to Have Fun

IMG_9822-1Hello, testing, testing… I have decided to dust off the keyboard and start blogging again. I was recently  rereading some of the stories I have written here and the memories of the events came flooding back as I looked at all of the pictures. I don’t want to forget any of these moments in our life. They’re very special to us and help document what we have learned and how much we have grown. So expect more updates on the happenings of our life and our new adventures.  Continue reading “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”

Engaged!!

Well obviously I am not engaged (because I am already married), but I am happy to announce and confirm that Ashley is engaged to Brady. Their story spans a decade, but they are about to embark on a whole new chapter of their lives together as husband and wife. Tommy, Zoe and I could not have been more thrilled to celebrate with them when they came to visit. Tommy busted out some chalk art and Zoe and I secretly left them a card on their bed. During their visit we happened to take them to many of the beautiful spots in Minneapolis where we were able to capture some amazingly beautiful photos of them. (More on their visit later) Here are some of the pictures…there are a lot of out takes, but I know how Ashley feels about those so I will save those for my own laughs. Oh, and many of them they are hoarding for themselves, so this is what I have. I did include a few silly ones, sorry Ash, they are too funny to not share. Needless to say we welcome Brady into our family as Uncle Brady and are looking forward to our visit to California in celebration of their wedding.

…then comes baby

DSC_0003Dear Zoë,

I can’t believe it has been a year! It feels like just yesterday I was waddling around worrying everyday about you! I loved being pregnant. It truly is a miracle. I felt so blessed to have been chosen to be your momma and I made every effort to make sure you were safe and I wasn’t doing anything to harm you. Then I realized my mom ate whatever she wanted and I turned out ok. So I tried to enjoy our pregnancy and take in every kick and thump that came from you. Although you weren’t a very active baby, you were very peaceful, so much that I used to poke you and push on you, just to make sure you were still in there! We had a great schedule. I never missed any sleep because of you and I thank you for that. I didn’t have any complications throughout our pregnancy and I stayed as active as possible…I went to work everyday, but I had A LOT of help at work! I really want to share your birth story so that you will know how it all went down. I just want you to know that it was the most amazing experience to bring you into this world. It was painful, but you are worth every contraction, needle, and stitch!

love,

momma Continue reading “…then comes baby”
