Chelsea’s Visit

12/14/2012 We woke up late and hurried out of the house to catch the next lightrail to the Airport. Chelsea’s flight was landing as we were pulling away from Target Field. Once we got to the terminal Chelsea jumped on and we made our way to the Mall of America.

Holiday Party

12/2/2012 Being the new kids on the block isn’t always easy. But when we decided to move we knew we wanted to put our best foot forward and make this the best experience as possible. We knew we wanted to seize every opportunity that came our way to get involved. A little background information…Tommy works for FAME on the 26th floor. The 27th, 28th and 29th floors are occupied by another agency called Martin | Williams. They will sometimes work together on projects and they are managed by the same human resources. Every year Martin | Williams hosts a family Christmas party for the families of both agencies. We thought this would be a great opportunity to get to know other families in the same company, so Tommy RSVP’d!

Happy Holidazzle

11/24/2012 Tommy had told me about this parade that Target puts on from November 23 to December 23, every Thursday thru Sunday. It runs down one of the main streets in the city, Nicollet Mall. We were planning on buying tickets to sit in a heated tent, but we procrastinated and they sold out. Oh well, so we decided to brave the cold! I checked the schedule and saw that the Grinch would be the Grand Marshal on the 24th, so that seemed like a good one to attend. Around 5 o’clock we started layering! We each put on three layers and grabbed a few blankets. We wrapped our scarves around our necks, put on our beanies and gloves then made our way towards Nicollet.IMG_0921 Continue reading “Happy Holidazzle”

Mill City Ruins

IMG_105811/17/2012 It was such a beautiful weekend for a walk. We didn’t have to layer up, but we brought jackets just incase. We have learned that it is a little cooler by the river and the wind can be a little relentless. We saddled up the dogs (just kidding we put on their brassieres…haha their harnesses). This time we were going to push everyone a little further and walk all the way down to the stone arch bridge.

Experimental Expressions

Every first Saturday of the month is FREE family day at the Walker Art Center. Tommy kept asking me “How will they know we are a family?” Pretty much it is free for everyone, but they have special activities for children. This particular Saturday was Experimental Expressions. It’s focus was on celebrating artists who bend the boundaries of live performance, film, and visual. Before we went to the Walker we decided it was a perfect day for a doughnut run!
