3/22/2013 When we started talking about having kids I would often dream of what they would look like. Tommy and I come from rich backgrounds. I bring French, German, English, Chinese, Norwegian, and Columbian to the table and Tommy brings Hispanic and a dash of Irish and Italian. It’s safe to say that Zoe doesn’t exactly fit into a perfect little ethnic box. So we like to celebrate ALL cultures. Plus EVERYONE is Irish on St. Patrick’s day! To celebrate I decided to take her to Toddler Tuesday at the Mall. We got to color shamrocks, “eat green crayons”. We are currently working on coloring more and eating crayons less. Zoe isn’t all that thrilled, but she is trying. Then they had a special guest Tessa of Dancercise Kids to sing and get the kids moving. Zoe had a lot of fun shaking and shimmying. It was fun to see all of the kids wearing their green outfits. Zoe’s gamma gave her a cute shamrock tutu complete with a green headband. Thank you Gamma!
On Saturday we decided to check out the St. Patrick’s Day parade downtown. It was a bit cold out so we didn’t stay too long, but long enough to get a few pictures. We had just received more snow the day before so I think the weather hindered a few of the parade attractions, but we enjoyed it anyways.

On Sunday we headed to the grocery store in search of some Irish fare. We found some Irish Soda bread and Corned Beef. I picked up some cabbage, potatoes, and carrots to accompany our Corned Beef. Growing up my mom always made Corned Beef and Cabbage for St. Patrick’s Day. I love and crave tradition so for the past 4 years I would make it for my students and we would have ourselves a regular ol’ St. Patrick’s Day party. Any excuse for a party is a good excuse, plus the kids live to celebrate. Tommy doesn’t particularly care for the food. He says, it lacks a bit of spice and I guess Tapatio wouldn’t exactly complement the dish. While we waited for our Corned Beef to cook I decided to take a “few” pictures of Zoe in her shamrock tutu. She is such a character these days. She is blossoming into quite the toddler and she is full of sass! She is also showing a lot of interest in her stuffed toys. She likes to give them hugs and kisses. She enjoys telling them stories with a lot of animation. I am enjoying watching her personality develop and I admire her sweet soul.

Thank you, as always, for sharing. You are in a good place and at a good time in yours lives, and Zoe is the beneficiary.
I that her baby doll?
It is actually Tommy’s “baby doll” She loves it and talks to it all the time.
